As of today, following our mass strike, we learned that the employer has agreed to return to bargaining and participate in mediation with no preconditions. This development reflects the strength and solidarity of our membership, and our unified efforts today played an important role in bringing the Employer back to the table.

On Friday, June 12th, the BC Labour Relations Board (LRB) reached out to both parties to offer their mediation services in the best interest of the public.  The Bargaining Committee decided to accept the LRB’s offer to assist the collective bargaining process.

This decision was not finalized until late this afternoon.  Statements suggesting otherwise are inaccurate.

Once bargaining dates are confirmed with the LRB we will share them with the membership. The Employer must come prepared to bargain in good faith with the GVRDEU Bargaining Committee.
