Award period opens in April by the President at the membership meeting and closes in June by the President at the Annual General Meeting.

The intent of this award is to benefit a member’s child or ward to support their ongoing education.

Five Scholarship Awards of $1000.00 each will be made available to the membership per year. A Scholarship may be awarded to a Regular Full Time Member’s sponsored applicant. No sponsored applicant shall receive more than $2000.00 in their lifetime. Awards will be determined by lottery if there are more than 5 applicants, the names of the successful lottery winners will be drawn and announced at the Annual General Meeting.

Criteria:

The sponsoring member must be in good standing. Applicants eligible for sponsorship are regular full time member’s child or ward. Eligible applicants must be enrolled full-time in a Post-Secondary Institution for a minimum two-year program or be enrolled in a Certified Trade School. Proof of enrollment must be submitted by August 31st of the same calendar year. Students may apply during the application period and the award will be given once proof of registration is supplied to the successful candidates. Each member is limited to one entry per sponsored applicant per application period. Any discrepancies are to be settled by the Union Executive Board.
