I am writing to provide an update regarding last night’s election to fill the recently vacated GVRDEU Executive Board and Officer positions.

The Union is pleased to announce that:

• Chad Esplen was elected to the role of Second Vice-President for a nine-month term of office.
• Kyle Miller was elected to the role of Treasurer for a twenty-one-month term of office.
• Nicholas Herrmann was elected to a Bargaining Committee position for a twenty-one-month term of office.
• Brock Engelstad was elected to a Bargaining Committee position for a nine-month term of office.

The Union Executive thanks the members who attended last night’s regular membership meeting, exercised their rights as members of the GVRDEU by participating in the election, and who stepped forward to fill these important positions within the Union.

Additionally, Brother Earl Purvis submitted his resignation as Trustee yesterday, effective September 5^th, as he will soon transition to an Exempt position with the Employer. The Union wishes to thank Earl for his dedication and service to the Union membership whenever he was called upon.

As per the Union Constitution, an election will be held at our next Regular Membership Meeting in October to fill the vacant Trustee position. A Union meeting poster reminding members of next month’s regular membership meeting, along with details regarding the upcoming election, will be posted on Union bulletin boards and on its webpage early next week.
