The Union gives notice that it will be withdrawing the availability of its member Mr. Brett Williams, as part of its strike action. This is in response to the Employer’s denial of vacation to Mr. Williams, despite the fact that he has not taken any vacation since returning from Parental Leave in July 2025.
Although Brett applied for vacation leave on May 25th , it was not approved prior to the Employer issuing an operational directive denying all vacations, although other employees who had vacation approved prior to June 2 are entitled to take their vacations.
Denial for vacation for over a year is unreasonable, and the Union’s position is that as a consequence the Union gives notice that Mr. Williams will not be reporting to work for the period between July 29, 2026 to August 24, 2026.
