Dear Members,
After two days of mediated bargaining sessions this weekend at the BC Labour Relations Board offices, the parties have not reached an agreement. While proposals were exchanged through the mediation process, the Employer’s latest package does not represent the meaningful movement needed to resolve the outstanding issues or reach a fair collective agreement.
Your Bargaining Committee remains fully engaged in discussions with the Mediator and continues working to move the Employer toward addressing the priorities members have clearly and consistently identified throughout this round of bargaining. We remain committed to achieving a negotiated settlement that includes improvements that reflect the needs and priorities of our membership.
We will update members as soon as reasonably possible on whether a tentative agreement has been reached or whether further job action will be required to secure a collective agreement that our members can support.
In solidarity,
GVRDEU Bargaining Committee
