JOB ACTION
WITHDRAWAL OF GVRDEU MEMBERS FROM DESIGNATED METRO VANCOUVER SITES
Effective 5:30 am today, June 5, 2026, the Union has made the decision to temporarily remove our members from their duties at the following locations:
- Head Office at Metrotown III
- Beach Yard Operations
In addition to the identified picketed sites, members have also been withdrawn from performing their duties in the following two departments:
- LWS Maintenance Services at Iona WWTP
- LWS Maintenance Services at Lions Gate WWTP
THE ABOVE ACTION APPLIES TO THE MEMBERS WHO ARE LISTED ABOVE
Members have been contacted by the Union who will be required to maintain essential service levels. There will be appointed Picket Captains at Head Office and Beach Yard Operations.
GVRDEU IS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDING THE ESTABLISHED PICKET LINES
Effective 5:30 am today, June 5, 2026, picket lines have been temporarily suspended that were established at the following locations:
- Lake City Operations Centre/Production Way Operations Centre
- Central Park Burnaby
- Kent Street Pump Station
Please be advised that information on future job action will be communicated through bulletins, and specifics about the Essential Services Global Order are available through your Shop Steward.
We strongly advise Members not to undertake any job action that is not sanctioned by the Union Executive.
