Collective Bargaining Update

Hello members,

Here’s an update on the current round of bargaining and what to expect in the weeks ahead.

Where Things Stand

We have now met with the Employer five times. While one scheduled session was cancelled by the employer, discussions remain active and ongoing. Throughout these meetings, your committee has continued to bring forward the priorities that members have identified, ensuring they remain front and center at the table.

Our Focus

We recognize that general wage increases to be an important topic, but they are not the only issue. We are advocating for improvements that strengthen our collective agreement, support safe and fair working conditions that reflect the realities we are currently facing across the workplace. Our aim is to secure an agreement that protects your rights today and positions all members well for the future.

The broader economic climate has made this round of negotiations more complex, but your needs remain our top priority. We’ve heard your concerns, and we are addressing them with a clear, united voice. It is important that the Employer recognizes the value you bring and responds in a way that respects the work you do every day.

Upcoming scheduled collective bargaining dates:

  • December 2nd, 4th & 5th
  • January 13th & 23rd

We will continue to share updates as negotiations progress. If you have questions or comments, please attend the Regular Membership meeting at the Union Hall on the first Wednesday of every month (except July & August), or reach out to your Union bargaining committee member.

In solidarity,

Your Bargaining Committee
